Challenge and Facts
KBBS were not happy with multiple IT agencies and they started to spend the majority of their time and money on recruitment challenges. They were experiencing a high level of people issues due to agency queries, poor interview processes, shortlists, and lack of understanding of their needs.
Harbury recognised they were a young and expanding business, with high standards and they valued flexibility and creativity in all that they do, as well as everyone they work with. It was obvious they wanted talented people who enjoy working independently, and could deliver ideas and solutions without being closely managed.
Hardeep and Simon met to discuss a recruitment strategy and Harbury were retained to provide support. Harbury recognised that KBBS had a high level of interim professionals who needed constant support and the business had turned a corner by meeting its growth aspirations and now needed to identify a larger office and needed a partner to bring in permanent professionals.
They relocated to the prestigious Warwick Innovation Centre in the summer of 2012. This facility is 5 minutes from the M40 close to Warwick and Royal Leamington Spa.
“Hardeep took complete ownership as a partner and we identified skill sets with him that we needed where specialist IT agencies were not fulfilling our needs or saving us time. He drafted a plan and agreed it with all the stakeholders. This plan was to build a platform to attract talent where he would assess on skills, experience and knowledge but more importantly fit and suitability into our organisation. We both had recognised that the IT market was very candidate driven and we needed someone who could assess potential talent and take them through a process. He prepared a talent management site and 4 specifications from scratch and advised us on remuneration, before producing a longlist and presenting us with a balanced shortlist. Every time we were presented a shortlist and statistics and it was surprising how many IT professionals were not used to being met by a consultant and subsequently had failed the Harbury process. The shortlists also provided us with key information about salaries and key market information which was very beneficial. Hardeep has shown us that Harbury is very different as they are client centric which means we and the candidates that work with him also gain a high level of service. Their difference to us has been spending time with us preparing a plan and executing it by capitalising on their search and selection skills. I can truly say that the Harbury team have now become a ‘trusted advisor’ through their attitude, actions and results delivered. They are in regular communication on good days and at challenging times, it’s obvious they are client centric. We now have a solid and committed team we can build on longer term, Harbury have stopped the poor retention rate and we have a talent management process instilled into the business”
